Review:

Derailed is the first book in the Clayton Falls series by Alyssa Rose Ivy. It's a sweet, contemporary romance revolving around a young woman named Molly. After the death of her fiance, she makes a spontaneous decision to drop out of law school and go back to the town she grew up in.

Wanting to be alone, she somehow finds herself in the middle of a love triangle. One guy is Ben – her first love whose heart she broke. The other is Gavin, a town cop that has his eye set on Molly. The two guys don't even compare though. Gavin was kind of creepy with the way he came on too strong. Ben is awesome. He's sweet, affectionate, handsome...everything a girl could want in a guy. But Molly is determined not to get into a serious relationship with anybody.

Molly is a broken girl that carries around so much guilt and self loathing. She has gone through a lot and doesn't want anyone else hurt because of her. Molly is a very likable person and someone you can't help but feel sorry for. She's in her twenties, but doesn't know what she wants in life. I think a lot of people can identify with that.

The pacing of the book was quick, but not overly so. I didn't get bored for a minute, and it was over before I knew it. This book had some sad moments, but lots of warm & fuzzy moments too. Sex happens in the book, but it isn't described. This is a sweet, clean romance that I think many will enjoy.
I'm looking forward to the other books in the series, which are going to be about some of the other characters that we've met in this book.
