As Kylie struggles to unlock the secrets of her identity, she begins to worry that Lucas will never be able to accept her for what she is, and what she isn’t…a werewolf.  With his pack standing in their way, Kylie finds herself turning more and more to Derek, the only person in her life who’s willing to accept the impossible.

As if life isn’t hard enough, she starts getting visits from the ghost of Holiday, her closest confidante.  Trouble is, Holiday isn’t dead…not yet anyway.  Now Kylie must race to save one of her own from an unseen danger before it’s too late—all while trying to stop her relationship with Lucas from slipping away forever.   In a world of constant confusion, there’s only one thing Kylie knows for sure.  Change is inevitable and all things must come to an end…maybe even her time at Shadow Falls.

The breathtaking fourth installment of the New York Times bestselling Shadow Falls series from author C. C. Hunter...Whispers at Moonrise.

Review:

Whispers at Moonrise is book #4 in the Shadow Falls series by C.C. Hunter. It's a wonderful addition to this awesome young adult series. Things just get more and more difficult for Kylie. She is put in many difficult situations, but she always makes it through. Between boy troubles, ghost issues, and figuring out her own identity – this book is probably the best one yet!

Kylie finally knows what kind of supernatural she is, but it comes with more questions than she had before. The abilities that she keeps gaining makes her feel like more of a freak than special. Everyone is always staring at her because she is not like any other supernatural at Shadow Falls.

The series has some of the best characterization I've come across. C.C. Hunter keeps you emotionally vested in the secondary characters almost as much as the main characters. Kylie's best friends and roommates, Della and Miranda, add much humor with their funny banter. Also, I am a big fan of Holiday and Burnett. I wish I could have read about their romance from their point of view.

The love triangle between Kylie, Derek, and Lucas continues. Lucas reveals more of himself but is still so secretive. I used to be a big Lucas fan but I am definitely Team Derek now. He is ALWAYS there for Kylie, no matter what time of day (or night). It doesn't matter to him what she is, and he would never put others before her. Lucas is always putting his pack before Kylie. I don't despise the guy though. I think he has some good intentions, he just doesn't carry them out in the right way. Basically though, I don't think Kylie and Lucas are meant to be. Something or someone is always going to come between them.

This book is full of suspense and mystery to keep you turning the pages. There is never a dull moment, and it is an emotional roller coaster. I was actually almost in tears at the end. I wasn't expecting that ending at all and I'm not too pleased with it. BUT, I know that the next, and final, book will be awesome. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long to see what happens next and figure out which boy Kylie chooses once and for all.
