Review:

This is a wonderful young adult paranormal romance about a 16 year old named Gracen. Being a Silver Mortal, she has special powers that allow her to see the supernatural and kick some demon butt. Her kind is made to protect the regular mortals from these demons. Gracen didn't know she had special powers until she was 13, and she does an awesome job despite the fact that she only had 3 years to train.

Gracen meets a group of Night Vipers – her mortal enemy. They claim to have escaped their clan, and want to work with her to defeat the demons. This is unheard of, so naturally Gracen is suspicious. She starts feeling an attraction to Phoenix – who is the leader of this group. Phoenix is strong, handsome, tortured, and sweet – you know...the type of fictional boyfriend that all girls swoon after. He's a great guy and has feelings for Gracen as well.

Gracen is a wonderful lead female character. She is so snarky and witty, and not afraid to fight. She has a tough life. By day she is the typical teenager going to school. After midnight, she is primed for battle. This story is fast paced and action packed. The storyline is very enjoyable and will keep you turning the pages.

My favorite thing, of course, is the romance. I love the “forbidden” aspect of it – 2 characters from two totally different worlds finding love for the first time. There is a cliffhanger at the end which is killing me. I'm dying to know when book #2 comes out!
