Review:

Enslaved In Shadows is the first book in the Shadow Unit series by new author Tigris Eden. It's a paranormal romance with some very steamy sex scenes. First, I want to mention that I received this ebook as an advanced review copy – so the final version might be better. The version I had needed some major editing. There were many grammar errors, as well as odd sentence structures and awkward word choices.

I'm not big on one-night stands, so I was a little bit disappointed at the beginning. I like there to be love along with the sex. Draven, the hero in the book, was sort of an ass and just left Jes in the jungle after he got his fill. He wouldn't even tell her his name. A little bit later, the book fast-forwarded 5 years and I started enjoying the story a lot more. Jes and Draven meet back up when she turns to the Shadow Unit for help getting away from her abusive husband. She is unaware that Draven is an agent with this company.

Jes slowly lets Draven back into her life. For the most part, I ended up liking him but he acted pretty possessive. They had some good passion between them. The other characters in the book were pretty interesting. I liked Royce – he added some humor to the book.

I want to add that there are some graphic torture scenes that are pretty gory – not something for someone with a weak stomach. The ending was disappointing to me. I really didn't like where it was headed, though I think things would change in the next book. There was a pretty big cliffhanger, which is frustrating. The next book comes out in December – I'm curious how things will turn out.
